[Intro with Music]:

Sometimes controversial, always politically incorrect, and pro-life without exception, without compromise, and without apology. It’s the Pro-Life America podcast with your hosts, Sarah Waites and the president of Life Dynamics, Mark Crutcher.

Sarah: Welcome back to the Pro Life America podcast. I’m your host, Sarah Waites, and I’m joined by my co host, Sheila Crutcher, Mark Crutcher’s daughter.

Sheila: Hi, everyone.

Sarah: Hello, everyone. Well, we have a very serious issue today. One that I’m sure is on the minds of everybody.

Sheila: Mm hmm. Dominating the news.

Sarah: Dominating the news. But before we get into that, we have a couple of smaller stories we want to cover.

As many of you know, CVS and Walgreens announced that they plan to offer the abortion pill over the counter in states where it was legal.

Sheila: Right.

Sarah: Now, there’s been a case in Las Vegas. Tamika Thomas was undergoing IVF treatment because she was trying to have another child with her husband. They wanted a big family and she had a couple of complications from ectopic pregnancies, so she was undergoing IVF treatment. And she was prescribed medication that would apparently help kick start her pregnancy. Now, she is pregnant, but apparently this is supposed to help. So, instead of getting the intended drug, there was a mix up, and they instead gave her the abortion pill, Misoprostol, instead. And as a result, of course, she wound up losing her child or children. I don’t know if it was that set of twins or…

Sheila: Which often happens with in-vitro fertilization.

Sarah: The Nevada State Board of Pregnancy found that all this happened because a technician had entered a generic prescription name for Misoprostol instead, and the pharmacist had missed this mistake.

Now, the two pharmacists were fined and put on probation for a year, and the pharmacy itself was given a fine of $10,000, the maximum that they could be fined. Thomas said that while she understood that people make mistakes, she said, “That mistake took something from me. There’s not enough that I can say. There’s not enough therapy. There’s not enough medication that’ll take the thoughts away, that will take the pain away.”

This was just absolutely heartbreaking. My heart goes out to this woman and her family and… I mean, anyone who’s lost a child knows that you have lost something, it is not just a clump of cells, this is something that she cannot get back.

Sheila: Mm hmm. It almost makes you wonder that maybe in a state like Texas, instead of just being fined, that they could be, you know, charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Sarah: It’s absolutely possible.

Sheila: But of course, with Las Vegas, they’re not going to be charged that way.

Sarah: And you know, I kind of wonder if this is something that you may see again.

Sheila: I mean, abortion pills are dangerous, not only because they do kill children, which is the intended use of it, but also all the unintended side effects as well, and it’s just horrible.

Sarah: So, while we’re on the topic of abortion pills, there’s been something else that’s come out out of Russia. So, for those who don’t know, Russia’s laws allow women to get abortion pills for free, from any pharmacy without a doctor’s prescription.

And they have their own rules and restrictions on when abortion can happen. But Russia’s Ministry of Health has announced that they will be restricting abortion pill access starting September 1st, 2024 through 2030. A doctor’s prescription will be required to obtain the abortion pills at a pharmacy. Pharmacies and hospitals wishing to dispense the abortion pill must also have a special license and they must report how many pills they have sold.

Now, the reasons for this change have been attributed to Russia’s health ministry over concerns over complications, abuse of the drugs distribution. However, there are some in the pro-choice community over there who are saying that it’s from the church and the push to return to, “conservative values.” However, as we’ve talked about on this podcast several times, with many countries facing a surging demographic crisis, it could be more linked to fighting population decline.

Sheila: Right. I mean, Russia can say all they want to, ‘oh, it’s because we’re worried about the side effects and all this other reason.’ But let’s be realistic. It’s because of their demographic issues. Russia is one of those countries that they want to control their people; and abortion is all about control and eugenics and getting rid of people that countries don’t want. And so this is all about demographics. It’s not because all of a sudden they have a change of heart or they have new information.

Sarah: Well, Mark would always say if we want to see what America would look like without the pro-life movement, it should look to the Soviet Union / Russia.

Sheila: Mm hmm.

Sarah: Because in the early 1920s, the Soviet Union became the first country in the world to legalize abortion. And Mark would always talk about the findings and the studies of the consequences of that. One published study discovered that the average Soviet woman would have nine abortions during her childbearing years.

Sheila: Right.

Sarah: Other researchers documented that 90% of all first pregnancies in the Soviet Union, and 60% of all subsequent pregnancies were legally aborted.

And one American researcher found that in some parts of the Soviet Union, Women underwent as many as 28 abortions. So the abortion rate has been high. And Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, told a meeting of lawmakers, in July, that reducing abortion rates is a key task that they are working on. And the population decline is something that we’re seeing across the board, especially in places around Europe and China, Japan, absolutely. So, I think it’s more likely because of population decline.

Sheila: When you have legalized abortion, it opens a floodgate of more abortions, which leads to demographic issues. And like I said, this isn’t a change of heart for Russia. It’s a strategic thing, because they’re seeing what a big issue they’re having demographic wise.

And speaking of other countries, I’m sure most of us know about the sad attack on Israel by Hamas this past Saturday. So far, at least 22 Americans have been killed.

Sarah: But that pales in comparison.

Sheila: Mm hmm. At least 1,200 Israelis and the numbers just keep on rising.

Sarah: Mm hmm.

Sheila: At a music festival alone, there were at least 260 Israelis who were killed.

Sarah: And the victim count has mostly been women and children. Like that’s, that’s comprised of a big bulk of it. And it’s not just that they’ve been killed. They’ve been talking about babies being beheaded.

Sheila: Mm hmm. Hostages taken.

Sarah: Dead women being paraded throughout the streets naked.

Sheila: Mm hmm, and rape.

Sarah: It’s absolutely atrocious, and our hearts go out to all the people around the world who have loved ones over in Israel – who are sitting there staring at their phones, waiting to hear news. And praying for the people who have been abducted, because there has been a small number of people who’ve been abducted by them.

Sheila: Right.

Sarah: And It’s terrible, but there’s something that has come out of this that I think that we really need to talk about.

Sheila: And that should open people’s eyes.

Sarah: So there’s an article called, Why are all of you silent? And I’m just going to read a couple of little small snippets of it. It said, “Two years ago, as conflict flared between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, Jews across America logged into Instagram to watch as everyone they knew posted a ‘Free Palestine’ graphic. Within days, Dua Lipa, Bella Hadid, classmates, professors, and friends all became geopolitical experts with axes to grind against Israel, Zionism, and their Jewish peers. Fast forward to this weekend when Hamas terrorists launched a barbaric attack against Israel, murdering over 900 people, injuring nearly 3, 000, taking 150 hostages, committing rapes and attacking innocents – in violation of every international humanitarian standard. Surely in the face of terrorism and war crimes, you’d expect people who had so much to say in 2021 to denounce these evils. But you’d be wrong, because these noble defenders of human rights are now radio silent.”

Sheila: Well, it’s actually the opposite of silent now – the very opposite. They’re actually saying, “oh Israel deserves it.” “Pro-Palestine,” and blah blah blah. So, not only are some people silent, but they’re actually basically praising it.

Sarah: Yeah, and we have seen a number of politicians remaining silent. We’ve seen a number of celebrities staying silent. Now, there are those who are speaking out – and some that are even denouncing others for their response. Ironically, Sarah Silverman of all people, has left and denounced the Democratic Socialists of America over their callous response and almost acceptance of the Hamas attacks.

Sheila: Well, the only reason she’s doing that is because she herself is Jewish. I can almost guarantee if she wasn’t Jewish, she would be one of those ones that was silent.

Sarah: And former NBA player, and I’m so sorry because I’m going to mispronounce this, but Amar’e Stoudemire – he called out politicians and the Black Lives Matter for staying silent.

Sheila: Mm hmm.

Sarah: He went on to say that the Black Lives Matter people always have something to say about everything else, and they are stone cold silent about this.

Sheila: Well, since he said that, the Black Lives Matter people came out with a graphic the other day showing, you know, an outline of a parachute with like a man parachuting and having like a Pro-Palestine thing. And so they’re basically supporting what happened. People have gotten outraged, rightfully, over their posts.

Sarah: Rightfully so. Absolutely. And as far as politicians, I mean, even the White House and the Biden administration didn’t release any statements until Tuesday evening.

There’s another quote in that article, Why are you silent? And it said, “War crimes and murdered toddlers are not a complex political situation, with arguments on both sides. You can support Palestinian statehood. In fact, you can have any opinion you want about the regional politics of the Middle East, and still believe that jihadist terrorists abducting an 85-year-old Holocaust survivors should be condemned. Conflating these two things only gives credence to the idea that violence against Jews is political, violence against anyone else, is unquestionably evil.”

I think that there’s something that people are missing on this – and this is going to be an unpopular opinion because we’re going to start talking about abortion. That’s not to minimize what’s happening here. But the unpopular reality is that when we tolerate the slaughter of the unborn child, how is it surprising?

Sheila: Well these same people that are, you know, staying silent against the terrorist attacks or who are even going as so far as saying, “good,” all that – these are the same people that support abortion and advocate for abortion. They don’t care about life.

Sarah: Mm hmm.

Sheila: And so should we be surprised about their reactions? No, we shouldn’t because of how they react towards the unborn.

Sarah: The fact is that abortion sears the conscience of our society.

Sheila: Mm hmm.

Sarah: And it’s not just here in the United States – that’s true worldwide.

Sheila: In every civilization, you know, that has abortion.

Sarah: The moment we start accepting killing as a solution to whatever problem we want to solve – as long as it suits our needs – then we can’t be surprised when we’re completely tolerant of the slaughtering of women and children, and saying nothing over here.

Sheila: Mm hmm. I mean, abortion has helped harden our society’s heart, basically, and soul. And so you shouldn’t be surprised at this response at all.

Sarah: And going back to the statements that the White House made, I just want to read one thing that Biden said. He said, “this is an act of sheer evil more than 1, 000 civilians slaughtered – not just killed slaughtered – in Israel.” He goes on to say, “parents using their bodies to try to protect their children. Stomach turning reports of babies being killed. Entire families slain… The loss of innocent life is heartbreaking.”

I mean, this is completely accurate. But the irony is, this same administration completely supports, 100%, the slaughter of the unborn child.

Sheila: Yeah, I don’t…

Sarah: And have done everything that they can to fight against any protections for them.

Sheila: Mm hmm. They have no room to talk, because they are perfectly okay with babies in the womb having their heads torn off, being decapitated limb by limb, torn apart, in pure violence – they’re perfectly okay with that.

Sarah: The thing is, we talk about abortion in clinical terms, but the reality is, the abortion procedure itself – it’s equally barbaric.

 Sheila: Mm hmm.

Sarah: Just because we don’t see it on a daily basis does not mean that it’s any less barbaric. Children are ripped limb from limb inside the womb.

Sheila: Mm hmm. Right.

Sarah: And you hate to be the person that tries to tie everything back to, like, abortion or something else. You just want to give people the space to process and be rightfully outraged about what’s going on. But at the same time, you have to point out the inconsistencies. The simple fact is, we’re not going to get any better unless we all get on the same page and remain consistent about this. It’s absolutely right, when you say this shouldn’t be a controversial issue not to slaughter babies.

Sheila: Right.

Sarah: It shouldn’t be a controversial thing. It shouldn’t be a polarizing thing. And it shouldn’t be a political thing.

Sheila: Don’t kill babies. Period, end of story.

Sarah: It should be something that we could agree on across the aisle – Democrat, Republican, Liberal, Conservative. And, all this reminds me of that verse in Genesis that says, “Your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground.” And anytime you see atrocious acts of evil like this, it always reminds me of that verse.

Sheila: Mm hmm. Which goes along with this week’s, From the Mouth of Mark. And he wrote, “What is often overlooked about Roe vs. Wade is its implied suggestion that a nation can execute millions of innocent human beings without consequence. That assumption is a testament to the unfettered stupidity of man. There is always a price to pay for tolerating evil.”

And he was 100% right. He would say, “as always!”

(Laughter)

Sarah: Yeah, exactly.

Sheila: But we’ll just have to, you know, keep an eye out and see what’s going on in this new war with Israel. So…

Sarah: Yeah, I’m sure that this is not going to be the last of the casualties that we see.

Sheila: Nope.

Sarah: And like we say, our hearts and prayers go out to everybody who is affected by this, who’s over there in Israel, who has family, friends over in Israel.

Sheila: And all of the innocent people who are caught in the middle of this as well. Both sides.

Sarah: Absolutely. On both sides, absolutely.

Sheila: Well, until next time, Life Dynamics is not here to put up a good fight.

Sarah: We’re here to win.

Sheila: Because winning is how the killing stops.

Sarah: We’ll see you next time on the Pro-Life America podcast! Bye guys!
