Norma McCorvey is the woman whose case before the Supreme Court (Roe v. Wade) ended up making abortion on demand legal in all 50 states.

She later publicly rejected the position she had taken and became a pro-life activist and author.  Now claims are being made that her conversion was not real and was, instead, bought and paid for by some gigantic, heretofore unknown, conspiracy financed by the pro-life movement.

I will not pull my punches.  On one hand, this is pure nonsense, but on the other hand it perfectly represents the sort of lies and deceitfulness you come to expect from the savages in the abortion lobby.

But even more unfortunate is that the spreading of this rubbish is not limited to the pro-choice crowd.

On May 21, the Dallas Morning News published a piece by fraudulent pro-lifer, Destiny Herndon-De La Rosa, in which she regurgitated the abortion lobby’s talking points line by line.  It read as if Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation had proofed it.  This is standard operating procedure for Ms. Herndon-De La Rosa, and The Dallas Morning News has a long history of using her for this very purpose.  Apparently, they consider her to be a “useful idiot” who is blissfully oblivious to the fact she is being shamelessly exploited.

So the question is: did Norma legitimately recant her recantation?

I doubt it.  But even if she did, so what?  Abortion is the cold-blooded killing of a tiny and helpless human being and what Norma McCorvey – or anyone else – says doesn’t change that.  In fact, I have been in this battle over 35 years and I have yet to meet one single person who said they became pro-life because of what someone else believed.

I want to make it clear that, over the years, I spent a lot of time with Norma and it was painfully obvious that she had massive psychological and mental problems.  The unfortunate life she had led – sometimes of her own making and sometimes not – had left her unstable and untrusting.  One day she would be the most likeable and gentle soul you ever met, and the next day she would turn on you like a west Texas rattlesnake.  Those of us who personally knew her understood and accepted this as the residue of her history.  Norma became the person she was because it was the only way she knew to survive.

I will also tell you that there were a lot of people in the pro-life movement who supported her financially – me included.  But contrary to what the media and others on the godless left are claiming, it was not a bribe or a pay-off, it was an offering to someone we cared about who needed help.  That’s all.  And we were blessed that God put us in those places at those times.  If someone wants to see that as a stain on our character, so be it.

Before I close, I want to say something to the media, the abortion lobby, and the pro-life frauds who are trying to sell this narrative.

I challenge any one of you to offer one shred of proof that Norma McCorvey took money to say that she was pro-life.  Remember, if you are making this claim against the pro-life movement, you are also making it against Norma.  So lay down your cards, your bluff has been called.

There’s more history re-writes on the way as the abortion industrial complex seeks to legitimize itself. What better way to keep and recruit disciples than to re-write history?
