I would love to believe in the concept of “pro-life Democrats” but that requires me to deny some undeniable realities.

To begin with, these people support a political party that has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to killing the unborn for any reason whatsoever or no reason whatsoever, and at any point of pregnancy. They also fight for this to be legal for a girl of any age without parental involvement. If a 12-year-old is pregnant by her 40-year-old soccer coach and is seeking an abortion to keep their relationship hidden and him out of jail, the Democrat Party is perfectly okay with the system that allows that to happen.

The Democrat Party also insists that their “pro-choice” holocaust is funded by taxpayer dollars. In other words, Democrats say to pro-life Americans that a woman’s “choice” to have an abortion is none of our business – but we have no choice but to pay for it.

The democrats are openly admitting that they support abortion being legal right up to the moment of birth! We used to hear about the "no child left behind" campaign, but the motto-de-jour seems to be "no child left alive."

The bottom line is, the Democrat Party is the party of death and it is hard to see how someone can be a part of that agenda and be seriously considered pro-life.

Beyond that, my experience has been that every “pro-life Democrat” elected to office will one day face a situation in which his or her loyalty to the Democrat Party conflicts with the cause of the unborn. When that happens, and this tension can’t be finessed away, it is inevitably the unborn who gets dropped in the grease. And in the final analysis, that is the salient point about “pro-life Democrats.” In this battle, they are unreliable allies because, when push comes to shove, they will always be more Democrat than pro-life.
