Pro-life Bikers will join the North Texas March for Life in Dallas, Texas where the Roe v. Wade abortion case originated.
The North Texas Ride for Life will take place on Saturday, January 17th at 3:00 PM.
Last year, pro-life bikers from Bikers for Life, founded by the pro-life organization, Life Dynamics brought electricity to marchers who made their way to the Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse housing the district court where Roe was first filed in 1970.
Texas History:
In March 1970, a suit was filed in Dallas on behalf of plaintiff Jane Roe and all other women “who were or might become pregnant and want to consider all options.”
At the time, in Texas, abortions were prohibited except to save the pregnant woman’s life. But, on June 17, 1970 the three-judge federal panel struck down the Texas abortion statute.
Henry Wade, a Dallas district attorney who defended the Texas law and the state attorney general appealed, leading, eventually, to the Supreme Court ruling: Roe v. Wade.
On January 22, 1973 the Supreme Court issued the infamous Roe v. Wade decision which legalized abortion on demand in America.
DALLAS MARCH FOR LIFE:
Each year, pro-lifers march through downtown Dallas to rally outside the Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse and leading this year’s march for the second time will be Bikers for Life.
Bikers will assemble by 2:00 PM at 500 Memorial Drive, (near the Dallas Convention Center).
The ride will begin promptly at 3:00 PM.
Dallas Bishop Kevin Farrell, who will be speaking at the rally, plans to lead the march on the back of a motorcycle for two blocks and then walk the last two blocks to rally outside Courthouse.
