Life Talk is a national monthly pro-life TV show produced at the studios of Life Dynamics, Inc. in Denton, Texas.
Each show is introduced by the month news presented by Alan Ackles:
The February 2015 news was as follows:
A new survey by Operation Rescue shows that abortion clinic closures continued strongly in 2014 with 73 shutting down for all or part of the year. The group says that 551 surgical abortion facilities and 188 medication-only facilities remain open nationwide. The greatest number of closings took place in Texas as a result of new pro-life legislation. That trend continued into 2015 when the Northpark Medical Group in Dallas halted abortions after the hospital that granted privileges to its two abortionists closed.
Also in January, Planned Parenthood announced the closing of its Battle Creek Michigan clinic citing increasing competition and declining patient demand.
Pennsylvania pro-life activist, Nathaniel Kubick, filed a federal lawsuit against the Hanover Township and the Colonial Regional Police Department, alleging that the city and law enforcement officials had violated the First Amendment rights of pro-life protestors by requiring them to get permits before they could assemble outside the Allentown Women’s Center abortion clinic. The suit was recently settled in favor of the pro-lifers when the city agreed that such public demonstrations or protests are lawful as long as they do not interfere with pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
The Chicago based Thomas More Society has submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the IRS, requesting copies of all the newly found emails to or from executive director, Lois Lerner. The Society has also provided the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means with over 500 pages of documentation from six different pro-life groups victimized by the IRS, dating back to 2009. The evidence shows that these groups were repeatedly harassed by IRS agents with questions about time spent in prayer and the content of prayers at abortion facilities. Some were also told that they must educate and advocate on abortion from both sides of the issue. One group’s directors were ordered to swear they would never picket or protest at a Planned Parenthood facility.
In 1997, a study in Finland documented that women who have abortions are 3 times as likely to commit suicide within the next year than the general population and 6 times as likely as women who give birth. In response, Finland launched a nationwide mental health campaign designed to reduce the suicide rate for post-aborted women. Finish officials are now saying that the effort has had little or no effect and that the prevalence of suicide among women who have abortions is not significantly lower than it was in 1997. Research conducted in other countries has shown similar results including a California study that found women undergoing abortions under that state’s Medi-Cal program are 2 point 6 times as likely to kill themselves as those who give birth.
Using a Freedom of Information Act request, Life Site News obtained documents detailing a 7-point plan by the National Abortion Rights Action League to destroy the nation’s crisis pregnancy centers. It was also discovered that government officials in Montgomery County Maryland had conspired with the pro-abortion group in an attack on a local crisis pregnancy center. In that case, a federal judge eventually ruled that the actions taken against the center were unconstitutional and imposed a 375 thousand dollar fine on the county.
In Illinois, a 66-page study submitted by Illinois Right to Life exposes negligent policies, faulty implementation, and incompetent practices that allow substandard abortion clinics in the state to operate with virtually no oversight. The group discovered that 63 percent of Illinois abortion clinics have not had a health and sanitary inspection in years with 40 percent going between 14 and 17 years without inspections. The report also notes that the state’s five Planned Parenthood abortion centers are not licensed and have not been inspected since 2000.
An abortionist who was once called a clear and immediate danger to the public by the attorney general of Delaware, has been hired by Planned Parenthood in another state. Timothy Liveright worked at a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Delaware until former employees came forward to report horrific conditions at the facility. Liverright was subsequently forced to resign and, in a consent agreement with the state’s medical board, he said he had retired from practicing medicine and had no intentions of ever practicing again. But recently, pro-lifers in California discovered that he has been hired by Planned Parenthood Mar Monte. They are now encouraging the pro-life community to register complaints with the state’s Medical Board.
In 2012, the Kansas Board of Healing Arts revoked the medical license of abortionist, Ann Kristin Neuhaus, after finding that she provided phony mental health evaluations on girls as young as 10 in order to justify late-term abortions by George Tiller. The Board also cited Neuhaus for keeping inadequate records with little to justify her diagnoses. Neuhaus appealed the board’s decision but now the Board has reaffirmed its ruling that she is unfit to practice medicine and has upheld the revocation.
As the Pennsylvania Secretary of State, Pedro Cortes closed a complaint without investigation into the death of a 22-year-old woman who died at the hands of convicted abortionist Kermit Gosnell. On the same day, prosecutors also closed an investigation brought about by a former Gosnell employee that indicated numerous violations at the facility, including using unlicensed workers to administer anesthesia; employing unsterilized instruments; and allowing flea-infested cats to roam the facility. Now, the state’s pro-abortion governor-elect, Tom Wolf, has announced that he is reappointing Cortes to that same state office. At the time of Gosnell’s trial, the grand jury in the case went so far as to accuse the Cortes State Department of neglecting its duty and suggested that the Department may have been unmotivated to do anything about the problem.
In New Mexico, pro-life activists have documented the seventeenth botched abortion at the Southwestern Women’s Options abortion clinic since 2008. The video shows a patient outside the late-term facility being loaded into an ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital. Local pro-life activist, Tara Shaver, verified that the abortionist on duty was circuit rider, Shelley Sella, who faced license revocation in 2012 after botching a 35-week abortion in which the patient almost died. Meanwhile in Ohio, two abortion patients were hospitalized within three hours after suffering complications at the Women’s Med Center operated by notorious late-term abortionist Martin Haskell. 9-1-1 recordings indicate that, in one incident, a 23-year old woman suffered uncontrolled vaginal bleeding and, in the other, a 29-year old experienced abdominal pain that may have been caused by a uterine perforation.
The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs has ordered the Women’s Center of Southfield owned by abortionist Jacob Kalo, to cease operations pending the outcome of an investigative hearing of the Attorney General’s Office. The order was prompted after a patient came forward saying the abortionist botched a 23-week abortion causing her to suffer uterine perforation and hemorrhaging resulting in emergency hospital care. The late-term abortion was a two-day procedure performed by abortionist Reginald Sharpe who is currently under investigation by the State of Michigan. In addition, pro-life activist Lynn Mills has discovered that the clinic failed no less than five inspections within ten months. The State had permitted Women’s Center to operate even though those numerous violations remained unresolved.
In Washington State, pro-lifers report that Planned Parenthood workers in Spokane stood nearby laughing while emergency responders loaded a patient into an awaiting ambulance and rushed her to a nearby hospital. Mary Sorensen, who volunteers for Sidewalk Advocates for Life, heard the workers laughing as they used umbrellas to block the patient from public view.
On a previous edition of Life Talk News, we reported on Oklahoma abortionist, Naresh Patel, who is facing ten years in prison on multiple charges that he obtained money by false pretenses for doing abortions on women who were not pregnant. He also has an extensive record of lawsuits, botched abortions, sexual harassment and unprofessional conduct. Now, Patel has also been charged with racketeering and, according to documents obtained by Life Talk News, he has agreed to stop practicing medicine until the Board can conduct an investigation.
The growing problem of pro-choice violence, was seen again this past month in several states. In Indiana, authorities charged 25-year-old, Jarod Rebuck, with attempted feticide for giving his girlfriend an herbal supplement known to cause miscarriage. Police were tipped off by the victim who said she became suspicious after smelling a strange odor in her drink. She also found Google searches on Rebuck’s cell phone for, “ways to cause a miscarriage.” Rebuck admitted to purchasing the drug telling investigators he was not financially or mentally ready to have children. If convicted, he faces 3 to 20 years in prison.
Meanwhile, a South Carolina, a police officer has been arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence. According to reports, the victim, who was 10 weeks pregnant, told authorities that 38-year-old, Sierra Shivers, pressured her into having an abortion at the Charleston Women’s Medical Center abortion clinic and that, afterward, he punched her several times in the face because she had taken too long. Shivers is on unpaid leave pending the outcome of an investigation by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. (NOTE: In March the charges were dropped – read why here).
And in Nevada, a Las Vegas woman was shot in the head after she refused to take the morning-after abortion pill. Police say that 21-year-old, Gregory Myrick, was upset with the victim because she was pregnant with his baby and would not have an abortion. Myrick insisted that Lewis have an abortion because he was engaged to another woman. Myrick admitted to police that he gave his 20-year-old fiancé a handgun and told her to shoot Ms. Lewis and both have been charged with attempted murder. The victim’s injuries were not life threatening and she is expected to recover.
Finally, an Irish pro-choice activist has been convicted of charges involving child pornography. Pat Corcoran, who had a long association with Choice Ireland, was caught with almost 6 thousand pornographic images and 21 videos of children between 8 and 14 years when he was first investigated in 2009. At the time of his arrest in 2012, he had downloaded another 11 hundred such images. Recently, pro-choice groups have attempted to scrub traces of Corcoran from their web sites, but several online photographs show him attending pro-choice events, including one in which he is holding a banner at a pro-choice rally long after he had been caught with this material.
On the February show, Rev. Johnny Hunter returns as a guest co-host!
This month we featured two incredible phone guests, Walter Hoye and Sheryl Crosier.
Walter Hoye of the Issues4Life Foundation will speak about the Black Genocide going on through abortion and how his latest pro-life rally is the target of the angry and radical pro-abortion group, Stop Patriarchy.
Our emotional, second interview is with Sheryl Crosier, the mother of a child born with Trisomy 18. She recounts how the medical profession called her beautiful Simon, “incompatible with life,” and how they refused to give him the same medical treatment as other newborns. More detail on that interview here.
Plus, Father Frank Pavone will address the public accusations being made against Priests for Life. More on that interview here.
In addition, don’t miss our exclusive coverage of the 2015 North Texas March For Life, where Bikers For Life lead the march on roaring motorcycles !
See video of Dallas Bishop Kevin Farrell, who spoke at the rally, leading the march on the back of a motorcycle.
