In another case of pro-choice violence, a 22-year-old man in New York who thought he had impregnated a teen he met on Facebook, has been convicted of second degree murder and tampering with physical evidence in her death. Police say the man murdered a 14-year-old girl he believed was pregnant when she refused to submit to his demands to have an abortion.
According to testimony, on the morning of January 4, 2013, Christian Ferdinand, then 20-years-old, and the teen victim, Shaniesha Forbes, had an argument over whether to terminate an alleged pregnancy. Ferdinand became angered when Forbes refused to have an abortion.
Ferdinand demanded the victim “kill it,” referring to the unborn child, and Forbes refused.
Ferdinand then placed a pillow over the victim’s face until the she stopped moving. Ferdinand shoved the teen’s lifeless body in a suitcase and then attempted to burn it on a Brooklyn beach.
During the autopsy, it was discovered that Forbes was not pregnant.
While presenting his case before the jury, prosecutor Robert Walsh said of Ferdinand, “He intentionally smothered a 14-year-old girl to death and burned her body to get rid of the evidence. He had a problem that needed solving, he didn’t want to pay child support, and Shaniesha got in the way.”
Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson said they will seek the maximum at sentencing of 25 years to life in prison.
Life Dynamics, Inc., a national pro-life organization located in Denton, Texas has collected data on a large volume cases where men murder a pregnant woman when she refuses to have an abortion.
Mark Crutcher, president of Life Dynamics says that abortion has become so easy that men use it as a safety net to eliminate a perceived problem, “The question arises then, what happens when the woman they’ve impregnated won’t jump into the net?”
Life Dynamics has compiled the data in a report entitled, “Under-the-Radar Violence in the Conflict Over Abortion.”
Crutcher, who wrote the report warns women to be cautious about dating men who support abortion, “If you are female, before you jump into bed with someone, it would be a good idea to find out his position on abortion. After all, you don’t want to find out the hard way that the kind of man who can be pro-choice about your baby could also be pro-choice about you.”
