Pro-life groups call for national Planned Parenthood protest

Pro-life organizations have announced a national protest of Planned Parenthood after the abortion business was exposed in a grisly baby parts operation.

Several pro-life organizations have announced a protest of Planned Parenthood centers nationwide after the abortion business was exposed in a grisly baby parts operation.

The August 22, 2015 event organized by the pro-life groups Created Equal, the Pro-Life Action League, 40 Days for Life, and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, is a call for pro-life activists to gather outside Planned Parenthood facilities all across America.

Protest Planned Parenthood

Our goal is to raise awareness of the heartless and even illegal activities of Planned Parenthood by going to where the killing and harvesting of body parts from aborted children takes place,” organizers write on their website ProtestPP.

Creating a presence at neighborhood Planned Parenthood facilities is essential to inform the public about what is going on behind closed doors. Local sidewalk counselors and activists are a key component to shutting down Planned Parenthood in the long term,” they continue.

The event is being co-sponsored by several other pro-life organizations listed below:

In addition to reaching out to the women, organizers say that the August 22nd National Day of Protest will strengthen local efforts by raising their profile with the local press, the community and other pro-life activists, to “put pressure on the media, both local and national, to report the truth about Planned Parenthood, and on government officials to stop funding this discredited organization.”

The group claims that in the wake of under cover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, Planned Parenthood has tried to distract from the video evidence by writing off their opponents as radicals and branding CMP’s principal David Daleiden an extremist.

This attempt to discredit the messenger does nothing to refute the claims being leveled against Planned Parenthood,” they point out.

What truly matters is whether the message is true—not whether the messenger is opposed to legal abortion or not,” they write.

Adding, “We have two groups before us. One is butchering children and selling their remains for profit. The other is blowing the whistle on this barbaric practice. Who are the real extremists?”

National Day of Protest organizers have created the hashtag #ProtestPP along with #PPSellsBodyParts and #PPSellsBabyParts and suggests pro-lifers follow it to organize their efforts.

According to organizers, “Local leaders will receive assistance from the national organizing team, including ideas for signs, an example press release to send to local media outlets, talking points, and a flyer to pass out to passersby during the protest.”

They state that a limited number of “Planned Parenthood Sells Baby Parts” banners will be made available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
