Child impregnated by stepfather taken for two abortions to cover rapes

Canadian officials are asking how a child could have been impregnated by her stepfather and taken for two abortions before she turned 13 without a report being made to authorities.

The sexual assaults occurred in 2011 and 2012, but only came to light after the victim’s 35-year-old stepfather was arrested for assaults against two other people.

Both times the child was pregnant, she was taken for an abortion — once at a Winnipeg hospital and once at a hospital out of province, CBC reports.

Court documents show the girl was instructed to tell medical staff her boyfriend was the father.

The stepfather was finally arrested in September 2012, after he assaulted another teenage girl and her mother.

A year later, he was charged in connection with the crimes against his stepdaughter.

He has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of sexual assault as well as other charges.

The Cover-Up of Child Sexual Abuse report recently published online details actual criminal cases where abortion and Planned Parenthood centers failed to report the rapes of minor girls which is against the law.

U.S. investigators told LifeSiteNews that abortion clinic staff routinely help predators secure abortions for their underaged victims by providing abortions without reporting obviously suspicious circumstances of coerced sex.

“They do it for both financial and political motives. It is a huge cover-up by abortion providers,” Mark Crutcher of Texas-based Life Dynamics said.

Crutcher points out that that young girls are often returned to their abusers after receiving abortions.

He cited a case in Florida where a 12-year-old victim who was taken by the pedophile who impregnated her in order to cover-up his crime, to a National Abortion Federation clinic operated by Florida abortionist Michael Benjamin.

In that case, the victim was seen by two abortion facilities without reporting the pregnancy to police.

The assaults became public when the child’s pediatrician suspected she had been given an abortion and contacted the authorities.

Despite his flagrant disregard for the law and continued abuse suffered by the victim after being returned to the rapist abortion, Dr. Benjamin never faced any criminal charges. (Read more here)

The abortionist was merely given a slap on the wrist by the health department to be overseen by one of his colleagues. Today, Benjamin continues to operate his Tamarac abortion clinic and he is still a member of the National Abortion Federation.

“It is self-evident that when a minor girl seeks an abortion, she represents a textbook example of why mandatory reporting laws were created in the first place,” Crutcher said.

“Some jurisdictions have ‘Romeo and Juliet’ provisions so that sexual assault charges do not apply when the minor sexual partners are only three-years apart in age,” said Crutcher told LifeSite News. “But it is not the job of health personnel to make that judgment. They have to call the proper authorities and let them decide.”

“If staff at an abortion clinic or hospital in Winnipeg did not report this girl the first time she turned up pregnant, then they are responsible for everything that happened to her after that,” he said.

“Despite this, we have consistently found that the law enforcement community is functionally indifferent to the problem of abortion clinics not complying with mandatory reporting statutes even in the face of irrefutable evidence that violations are occurring. Among all the cases we researched we never found one example in which criminal charges were brought against an abortion clinic employee for failing to comply with their state’s mandatory reporting statute,” he stated.
