Despite the objections of local police officers and the pro-life community, the City of Rockford has moved forward to buy the former Turner School, which was once a notorious abortion clinic. Rockford plans to turn the closed killing center building into the District 2 south side police station.
A few months back, Rockford police officers voiced their objections to their offices locating in a the closed Northern Illinois Women’s Center abortion clinic because of what the building represents.
“A number of people have an objection to the Turner School building because of what it represents and they have some serious moral objections to being in that building,” PBPA Union President Terry Peterson, said.
Peterson told WIFR that he had heard from more than a dozen officers who said they won’t work in that building because it used to be an abortion clinic.
Peterson, who retired this year, added, “I personally would never work out of that building. There’s a stigma. It’s the idea of what took place in there.”
The killing center had been aborting unborn babies in Rockford for nearly 40 years when they closed permanently in early 2012.
The Rockford abortion clinic was often cited for mocking Christians and flaunting the killing of children.
A few years ago, Life Dynamics’ TV show, Life Talk TV discussed the bizarre things that went on at the Rockford abortion clinic:
Kevin Rilott, a pro-life side-walk Counselor, and spokesperson for the Rockford Pro-Life Initiative, told Life Dynamics that his group is standing with the police officers, “We as pro-lifers want to do what’s best for our community. But when 25 police officers came out and said that they could not work at that building because of the abortions that took place there and the anti-Christian history of the owner, we are supporting them 100%.”
Rilott said that a majority of the City Council favored the purchase which is paramount to a bail-out for the abortion clinic owner Wayne Webster.
“Another thing that is upsetting,” Rilott said, “They’re not only buying the abortion clinic building. They’re buying additional properties from the abortion clinic owner as well.”
Rilott also pointed out that women who received abortions in that building and are later arrested could experience emotional trauma if taken there by police, opening them up to possible lawsuits.
Mark Crutcher, president of Life Dynamics responded to the news by calling for an exorcism of the building, “If they are going to put construction workers in a building with that sort of evil history to rehab it and then later have police officers working in it, the minimum they should do is have an exorcism performed beforehand.”
Rilott said statements by their organization about the abortion clinic purchase by the city can be read at their website and are linked below:
Rockford Police Officers REFUSE To Work In Old Abortion Mill
It’s not right to turn a building that was used to kill so many children into a public place where some people may need to go.
No woman should every have to go into that place.
I support those police officers who are voicing their objection – may God bless them! I hope many more join them.
My suggestion: tear that place down, consecrate the ground, and build a Catholic Church on the property!!
