An investigation opened against a Planned Parenthood in Nebraska may have prompted the unanticipated departure of the center’s abortion doctor.

Monday, a local Nebraska media outlet announced that abortions had been halted at a Planned Parenthood in the state after the doctor left.

According to the story, a “longtime” abortionist working for Planned Parenthood of the Heartland left the Lincoln clinic near the end of March forcing Planned Parenthood to stop offering abortions.

To no one’s surprise, Angie Remington, a Planned Parenthood spokeswoman would not state why.

Today, however, we are getting a clearer picture of what may have transpired after a report surfaced from Operation Rescue that the Lincoln Planned Parenthood facility is under investigation.

The investigation centers around a complaint the group filed with the Office of Acute Care Facilities after a confidential source documented that emergency entrances at the Planned Parenthood were kept in abhorrent condition.

Trench at PP-Lincoln

From Operation Rescue’s report:

Operation Rescue received photographs of the abortion clinic’s ambulance entrance from a confidential informant showing the area around the door cordoned off and completely blocked. A 5-6 foot deep trench, piles of dirt, and construction debris would have prevented ambulance personnel from using the entrance or getting a gurney in the door in the event of a medical emergency. Abortions were taking place at the Planned Parenthood facility at the time the photos were taken in March 2015.

The letter from the state’s Division of Public Health acknowledged the photos and says that the state will be investigating the complaint against the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in “the near future.”

“It is a relief to know that abortions have halted in Lincoln for the time being, especially in light of the hazardous conditions that could endanger the lives of women suffering serious abortion complications,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue and co-host of Life Talk TV.

“We hope the Lincoln Planned Parenthood will never reopen.”

Emergency exits and entrances are critical in facilities that perform abortions.

As we have documented many times in the past, women are often transported to the hospital following their so-called safe and legal abortions.
