A Nation Without Hope

It seems that we, as a nation, cannot escape it and the violence seems to be escalating. What causes this violence that hurts and kills human life? It depends on whom you ask but it really comes down to one thing…
Two tragedies recently happened in America, less than two days apart- a mass shooting in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio. While we should pray for the victims’ friends and families and reflect on this horror, the left is too busy pointing fingers.
Instead of putting blame where blame is really due, it took the liberals no time at all to blame “fascist” Trump and violent guns. When Obama was in the oval office did the left blame him when mass causalities from shootings happened under his watch? No, of course not. That wouldn’t fit their narrative. So instead of focusing on the real culprit that causes this violence, liberals like to turn their heads and put blame everywhere else.
So what is the real cause?
The true and simple answer is: the lack of respect of life. This is something that the pro-life movement is familiar with as we fight on the battle lines of life and death on a daily basis. Mark Crutcher, President of Life Dynamics, perfectly summed up the issue in one sentence: “It’s not about what’s in people’s hands but it’s about what is in their hearts”. A sentiment that everyone, especially abortion advocates, should take note of.

As the hosts of “Life Talk” discussed, on the August 6th episode, America will never be able to escape the issue of violence if we don’t take care of the abortion issue. If we can’t protect and defend the defenseless in their mother’s wombs, whom can we protect? As Pope John Paul II said, “A nation that kills its own children is a nation without hope.”
So while the liberals try to defy the Second Amendment, take away American rights and human lives, we need to continue on in our quest of protecting and saving defenseless lives. Until we can respect the most innocent of lives, the violence in our society will not only continue but multiply.
